1.1 Manual on Digital Document Archiving

The three-part manual describes the creation of digital archive of full text documents with Winisis, GenisisWeb and GenisisCD software, which work even in windows95.

 

1.2 Manual for Creation of CD-ROM  Library

The manual describes the creation of cd-rom libraries containing full-text documents with Winisis & GenisisCD. This is probably the easiest digital archive one can create.

 

2. Software

The  software tools  required to create window-based digital archives/ cd-rom libraries can be downloaded from the links given below:-

        2.1 Winisis 1.5

        2.2 GenisisWeb 3.2.1

        2.3 GenisisCD 1.1.0

        2.4 Apache Webserver 2.2.3

 

Install the four software items in your computer. Change the configuration of GenisisWeb & GenisisCD in to English.

 

Copy the contents of the bireme folder in GenisisWeb to cgi-bin folder in Apache and copy the wwwisis folder in GenisisWeb to htdocs folder in Apache.

 

Then create digital archive as detailed in the Manual on Digital Document Archiving given above. For creation of CD-ROM library follow the Manual for Creation of CD-ROM library.

 

3. Training on Digital Document Archiving
