ACTIVITIES OF KILA

KILA is a nodal institution for training, research, documentation and consultancy in the area of Local Governance. Along with training and policy oriented research, KILA organizes seminars, workshops and discussions on various issues relating to Local Governance and Development. KILA is working with a mandate from the Government of Kerala to develop into an institution of distinction. The institute has expertise in areas like Decentralised Planning, Local Governance, Dalit Empowerment, Local History, Information Technology, Social Audit, Financial Management, District Planning, Praxis Intervention and Micro Enterprises. In addition to the permanent core faculty members, KILA has got a pool of eminent resource persons with academic, administrative and field experience. Further, we have an excellent network of field level honorary extension faculty.
